  1. MAN FROM UNCLE  (2015)

Man from Uncle is one of the classiest spy movies out there. Set in the year 1963, it deals with two spies, Napoleon Solo and Ilya Kuryakin, each belonging to a rival country. Napoleon played by (Henry Cavil) is a former thief turned CIA operative who is tasked to extract Gaby (played by Alicia Vikander) from worn torn East Berlin but there’s just one problem, there’s someone stopping them. That is Ilya Kuryakin played by (Armie Hammer) who is a KB agent. As Gaby’s father is a nuclear scientist and is working for an international criminal organization to build a nuclear bomb, the two countries Russia and America decide to team up to put down this criminal organization that is a threat to both their nations. Both the spies are always at each other’s throats, trying to best the other while simultaneously working together. This movie is simply a treat to watch for spy lovers. Safe to say, it is one of the best spy movies out there.

2. SALT   (2010)

Salt is one of the best spy movies out there. Though it does not contain much action packed sequences, it prevails mostly in highlighting world class espionage. It shows Evelyn Salt played by Angelina Jolie as a CIA agent who has been accused of being a Russian sleeper agent by a Russian defector. Furthermore, the defector also claims that she will assassinate the American friendly Russian President who is currently in America. The CIA tries to detain Salt but she manages to escape and runs back home only to find her husband being kidnapped. Now on the run and in a bind to clear her name, Salt faces the ultimate challenge of preventing the assassination of Russian president in America and taking down those who orchestrated everything.

3. RONIN  (1998)

Ronin is another classic spy movie. Sam played by Robert De Niro is a CIA agent who goes undercover as a contract operative and is hired with a couple of other guys by a woman to steal a mysterious briefcase. However not all is as it seems and not everyone is who they say they are. This movie deals with shifting loyalties, counter espionage and very eccentric and thrilling car cases in Paris and France. For all the classic lovers, this is a must to watch.

4. ALLIED  (2016)

This movie is set during World War 2 in the year 1942 and is one of the best spy movies out there. Max Vattan is a Canadian Air Force pilot working with intelligence and is sent to Casablanca to link up with French Resistance Fighter Marianne Beauséjour to assassinate a German ambassador. The two pose as a married couple and eventually grow close to one another. They are successful in their mission and afterwards both actually marry and move to London with their daughter Anna. However loyalties are put to the test when Max is told that his wife is a German spy and is instructed to kill her. Reluctant, Max has plans of his own.

5. SPY  (2015)

This is a spy/comedy movie and tells the story of 40 year old Susan Cooper (played by Melissa McCarthy) who is a desk bound CIA employee. Susan wanted a thrill in her life and that’s why she joined the CIA but things did not quite work out well for her. When her partner is presumed dead, she takes on a job to bring his killers to justice and stop them from selling nuclear bombs. Assisting her on this mission is another hardened CIA spy Ford (played by Jason Statham) who just can’t stand Cooper. The comedic partnership of Ford and Susan is something which makes this move a must watcher for all the spy lovers.
